YFC Camp TestimonyOn November 15th and 16th, the CFC Youth For Christ (YFC) from Paramin/ Maraval, hosted a camp at St. John's R.C. in the Parish of Diego Martin. I intended to go right up until that Saturday morning, because of situations that had occurred on Friday. Saturday morning came and I was still upset. My mom said, "Stay home, you don't have to go." I said, "Mummy, well, to tell you the honest truth, I wish I could have done that, but I want to go." When I got there, I was tired and upset, but when I saw the group I put everything behind me and praised God. At least that's what I thought I did. As we asked the Holy Spirit to reach out and fill us by singing the slower worship songs, I began to cry. My friends asked me what happened and I told them nothing. But when a member of the YFC group, Kathy-Ann, asked me what everyone else was asking, I told her about my situation. Her advice was to put everything behind me, put my trust in God and to remember that God has unconditional love for us. They say that God has a way of speaking through people. I truly believe that she was one of those people. She spoke to me as if I was her sister. As the day went on, everyone had fun and got to know about God. I saw people who were always serious, smiling and laughing. I saw the group behaving like a big family. I knew that at that point I wanted to become a member of Youth For Christ. Why? I made that decision because they were able to touch people in different ways. I also wanted to join the group in order to grow stronger in my faith and to learn more about my God. |

Sunday came and we went through the same procedures except for the addition of a healing session. I opened up my heart and mind and listened to what God was saying. His words were so powerful that He made me cry and everything came flowing out. I felt good afterwards because I knew that I was back on the road to Jesus and I could feel His love grow stronger. I was happy and felt as if all my burdens had left me. The only thing or person on my mind was Jesus. So that was how God touched me through the Youth For Christ camp. He used not one but many little things to touch my heart. By Allana Affan |
