God is truly great! This weekend he had a very special message for us
at our Singles for Christ (SFC) retreat. The theme this weekend was
"Foundations for Christian Living" which, looking at the state
of our society today, was just what we needed to keep us on the right
track. We focused on God's Family Growing in Faith, Knowing God's Will,
Overcoming the World, Overcoming the Flesh, Repairing Wrongdoing and
Faithfulness and Order. |

Today our society is allowing its mind to be strongly influenced by
various types of negative forces and we need to call on God, who is our
protector during these times. He tells us "Do not model your
behaviour on the contemporary world …" Romans 12:2. Therefore for
us to know how we should model our behaviour we should turn to God. He is
our guide "I am the Way, I am Truth and Life" John 14:6 Apart from being spiritually renewed that weekend, I went into a state of deep soul searching. I started paying attention to the genre of music I listened to, the type of movies I watched, how I spoke to persons around me. I asked myself questions like "Am I portraying the love that God wants me to?" and "When people look at me or interact with me are they seeing a child of God?". I think that these are questions we should all be asking ourselves so that we keep that connection with our Redeemer and may be able to discern what His plans for us are so that we could follow them. I would like to take this opportunity to thank on behalf of the entire CFC, Singles for Christ family, Lloyd and Hazel Theodore, Leslie and Christo Govia, Winston Garcia, Carl Lara, Earl and Sandra Theodore, Earl and Ann Taylor, Neil and Claire Peters and the Mayfield Apostolate who ministered to us. Your talks and assistance were clearly proof of God's presence here on earth. May He continue to bless you and bring miracles into your lives. Shawna |
