CFC Sports and Family Day 2012

The annual Couples for Christ (CFC) Sports and Family Day kicked off on a high note with Mass at Fatima College, on Sunday, January 22. 
This year we were “graced” with the presence of none other than Archbishop Joe Harris, chief celebrant at theMass. While the congregation had been well prepared by the pre-Mass songs of exhilarating praise and worship it was His Grace’s homily that truly inspired us to be people of God’s own heart, laying down our choices, families and Christianity at His service. The Archbishop reminded the congregation that our primary focus must be to build up family life in this nation. He pointed out that parents were often prepared to expend considerable time, effort and money to ensure that their children got a sound education, but the end purpose was only that they could earn lots of money! The Archbishop lamented the seeming loss of the Christian value of service to others and suggested that parents needed to go further: seeking to produce holy homemakers, holy agriculturists, holy doctors, holy lawyers etc. In short, we should by all means develop to the fullest those competencies, talents
Celebrating 13 years in Trinidad and Tobago

Sunday January 23rd, 2011, was a day of celebration. Fr. John Theodore started the day's proceedings by celebrating Holy Mass. He shared that a true Christian is a lover of Jesus. He asked us to reflect and repent for those times when we failed to put Jesus first - when we failed to love Him / only giving him the status of just one of the things that we are "in to" - instead of making Him preeminent in our lives. CFC's leader Mark Poon tip then shared briefly about the journey of the last 13 years, the obstacles faced, some failings and the fact that we need to do more/be even more open to God so that He could continue to truly use us. |
